Lets talk about the plot shall we ?
Dracula (2026)" refers to a new Gothic romantic fantasy film directed by Luc Besson and starring Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, and Zoë Bleu, releasing in North America on February 6, 2026, focusing on the prince's transformation after his wife's death and his quest to reclaim her from death. It's a fresh adaptation or re imagining of Bram Stoker's novel, exploring themes of power, immortality, and eternal love, following earlier versions like Coppola's 1992 film and Robert Eggers' 2024 Nosferatu.
A 15th-century Prince Vlad renounces God after the murder of his wife while fighting a war in the name of God. Thus God cursing him to becoming the immortal Dracula. Centuries later, he hunts for his lost love in 19th-century London while being pursued by a relentless priests.
This is your basic plot and for what it is worth this movie is actually a pretty good take on a re imagining for Bram Stokers. There were a lot of things that they changed obviously but most of the were subtle and I think for the movie it was trying to be the changes they made were pretty good and went well with the plot of the story. The guy who plays Dracula was such a good actor ( despite being a very gross crier lol ) he was able to display so many emotions and make us feel those emotions. The acting in general was actually very good. So I'll give the acting in it a 8/10 . The cinematography was also really well done it was visually beautiful and I love all the Costuming. You know Costuming is something I love when it comes to anything really so the cinematography was 8/10 and the Costuming was a 8/10 so to be honest everything as a whole made this movie an 8/10 . It is worth the watch and it focuses mostly on the love aspect of Dracula and his Elizabeta!
DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS!!!!!
This movie starts out with a Vlad and his wife having sex yet done tastefully ( accept when they are playing around with food and then they get all gross with it ...ew) it doesn't even show them naked really. Just a fair warning. However it is important to the movie. It is their love tale and then it goes into the war that Prince Vlad had to fight in and Elizabeta had to flee from and never made it out of . So in this movie I wanted to talk about a few changes that they did that were kinda odd to me but also kinda worked. They took Lucy out of the movie and Renfield. They also removed the vampire bride girls that try to devour Jonathan in the original. Now the look they gave him was great he was very reminiscent of Gary Oldman's Dracula portrayal but not exact and I liked that . Mina is still Mina but the way they brought Lucy without being Lucy is ....A mental facility captured a woman named Maria and brought her in and then called in a priest ( who I believe I suppose to be Van Helsing but they don't say it ) to come and check her out. Turns out this woman is a Vampire and is in search of her master. Mina shows up to the facility and informs them she is there to see if her new friend Maria was ok. After the priest had found a picture of what Dracula's wife looked like he sees that Mina looks almost identical and then they keep a close eye on her. They speak to her and discuss how she feels like she doesn't belong in this time and she explains how she met Maria which was at Maria Wedding with Henry who was her soon to be husbands ( Jonathan) I cant remember if they said close friend, brother, or business partner. Anyways that is how Maria and her met. Maria was trying to help her master find his wife in this time and just so happened to find her. Meanwhile back at the castle , Jonathan shows up at the castle of Prince Vlad and offers Vlad to buy a piece of land and real estate in Paris and Vlad aka Dracula says enough talking for the night after they ate a bit and then he showed him to his room and then told him not to leave his room ( just like in the other one ) and again Jonathan does not listen only this time....the brides were replaced by cute as hell ( I think they are ) Gargoyles and they are like 3 feet tall and his minions so cute I love them so much. Vlad comes down as the Gargoyles are stringing him upside down and he says " I told you no tot leave you room "and that he is hungry so he is going to eat him. He asks Jonathan what his dying wish is and he says to hear about Dracula and all that he is . He wants to know his story and so that when Dracula tell his story about his life and his adventures to finding Elizabeta and creating this cologne that draws woman in as if it were the most potent pheromones ever. It basically entrances them and makes Dracula irresistible and them to rave him to basically devour him. Jonathan says you cant kill me because you know what love means and I am about to be wed to the love of my life and shows him the picture of Mina and ....well we know what happens from there. Vlad spares Jonathans life because he brought him his Elizabeta but throws him in the dungeon where he ends up escaping. Vlad goes to Paris free's Maria after eating a bunch of horny nuns and becoming young again. Maria goes convinces Mina she is fine and arranges a meeting for her master and Mina to meet. He charms her and yet she still refrains from him yet doesn't want to. The priest and doctor find Jonathan and find out Mina is in trouble and they tell Mina that he is not a nice man he is a Vampire and killer . She doesn't want to believe that . She goes to her room and guess who is there? Vlad ya you know!! He is like I will leave and she is like yes please and then she stops him and they speak more and then she realizes she does know him and she does love him and then remembers who she really is . He takes her back to their castle in Romania . At the end the priest gathers, Henry ( Maria shows up and they end up killing her ) and Jonathan go after Dracula to get MIna back with an army of people. The priest finds Vlad and tells Vlad I am here to save you and that by killing himself he frees everyone once bitten and he free'd Mina's soul from damnation which he is her damnation. Vlad realizes this. He decides amongst the chaos of war they brought to him after many died that he will let the priest kill him to save her soul and then he does. It ends with Mina crying over his ashes and Jonathan seeing it realizing she will never love him the way she loved Dracula and walks away. Vlad's ashes lift and blow out the window and up to the sky as everyone exists the castle you see several children covered in white paint walking out looking gray almost and I assume it was what the Gargoyles were before they were turned. They were free'd as well.
It is a true love story and I would say for me it was a solid 8/10 would watch again!!
